About Dreamscape Community Connections
What is Dreamscape Community Connections?
Dreamscape Community Connections is a community-led project offering gentle, low-pressure ways for people to connect — without expectation, pressure, or the need to “be a certain way”.
It is being shaped slowly and thoughtfully, with care, accessibility, and real life in mind.
The focus is simple:
connection that feels safe, optional, and human.
This may include:
- quiet online spaces
- low-pressure meet-ups
- gentle ways to attend things together
- support to feel less alone when stepping into wider community life
Everything develops at a pace that feels sustainable.
Why the name “Dreamscape Community Connections”?
Dreamscape began as an idea for a community hub — a physical space where people could gather.
As the project developed, it became clear that the most important part wasn’t a building, but connection.
The name Community Connections reflects:
- a focus on people rather than premises
- supporting links between individuals and existing services
- both online and in-person pathways
- a gentle, relational approach rather than a formal offer
A physical community hub remains part of the long-term vision, but Community Connections better reflects what exists now — and what Dreamscape is actually here to do.
Who is Dreamscape for?
Dreamscape is for anyone who:
- feels isolated or disconnected
- struggles to attend things alone
- finds traditional groups overwhelming
- wants gentle connection without pressure
- prefers quiet, optional, low-demand spaces
You do not need:
- a diagnosis
- a referral
- to explain yourself
Neurodivergent — diagnosed, self-identified, or unsure — you are welcome here.
Swipe Down if if still unsure.
Is Dreamscape a service, therapy, or clinical provision?
No. Dreamscape Community Connections is not a medical, clinical, diagnostic, counselling, or therapeutic service.
It does not provide:
- treatment or therapy
- diagnosis or assessment
- crisis intervention
- mental health or clinical care
Dreamscape does not replace professional, statutory, or clinical support and should not be viewed as an alternative when specialist help is needed.
The project exists as a community space, focused on connection, accessibility, shared understanding, and everyday wellbeing — not intervention.
Clear boundaries help keep expectations safe, transparent, and ethical for everyone involved.
Who created Dreamscape Community Hub?
Dreamscape Community Connections was created by Marybeth, shaped through lived experience, community listening, and a recognition that many people are left out of traditional spaces.
What began as an idea for a community hub slowly grew into something more.
Marybeth chose the name Community Connections to reflect what truly matters — not just a building, but the relationships, moments, and gentle links between people.
The project is being developed slowly and carefully, with:
• safeguarding
• accessibility
• sustainability
at the centre of decision-making.
Any future partnerships, team growth, or physical space development will happen thoughtfully — in line with capacity, funding, and community need, not speed or pressure.
Is Dreamscape Community Connections officially set up yet?
Dreamscape Community Connections is a community-led project currently being shaped.
Work is underway toward Community Interest Company (C.I.C.) registration, as the foundations are put in place.
This allows the project to grow responsibly, with clear governance, transparency, and accountability as it develops.
How the Community Works
Is the community online, in person, or both?
The online community is currently open and offers flexible, low-pressure ways to connect from home.
Low-pressure, in-person meet-ups are being introduced gently and thoughtfully.
Plans for any future physical space or regular in-person provision will move forward only once:
- funding is secure
- safeguarding structures are in place
- accessibility planning is complete
- capacity feels safe and sustainable
Some people may only ever engage online — and that is completely valid.
What are Community Pathways?
Community Pathways are different ways to connect with Dreamscape, depending on your energy, capacity, and what feels manageable at the time.
Pathways may include:
- free, exploratory online spaces
- low-pressure, in-person meet-ups
- optional membership spaces for ongoing connection
- a blend of online and in-person participation
Pathways are flexible, not fixed.
You can move between them, pause, step back, or change how you engage over time.
They exist to make access clearer — not to box anyone in.
Do I have to talk, post, or interact?
No. Participation is always optional.
Whether online or in person, you’re welcome to:
- read quietly
- observe without posting
- attend a meet-up without speaking
- join and step back
- engage only when it feels safe or manageable
There is no expectation to explain yourself, contribute regularly, or perform connection.
Quiet presence is respected and valued.
What are low-pressure meet-ups?
Low-pressure meet-ups are gentle, informal, in-person gatherings designed to offer calm connection without expectation.
They are not classes, sessions, or services.
They may include:
- quiet conversation (optional)
- shared walks
- sitting together in a café or outdoor space
- gentle creative or grounding activities
- simply being alongside others
You are always welcome to:
- arrive late or leave early
- attend once or occasionally
- sit quietly without speaking
- take part as much — or as little — as feels right
There is no pressure to engage.
What will the physical Community Hub be like?
The physical Dreamscape Community Hub is being developed as a calm, accessible, low-pressure space.
Accessibility is considered from the outset and includes:
- sensory awareness
- flexible layouts and pacing
- quiet and rest areas
- clear communication
- optional activities
Not all needs can be met immediately, but accessibility will be reviewed continuously as the project develops.
The hub is not a clinical setting.
It is a community space focused on comfort, choice, and belonging.
Can Dreamscape help me attend other groups or places?
Yes — gently, and only where it feels right.
For some people, Dreamscape may act as a bridge into wider community life.
This can include:
- attending other sessions, groups, or places together
- going along with others so you’re not alone
- building confidence before stepping into new spaces
This is done collaboratively, with consent, and without pressure.
Dreamscape does not replace other services — but it can help make accessing them feel less overwhelming.
What if I’m waiting for a diagnosis, self-identifying, or unsure?
You are still welcome.
You do not need a label, paperwork, or certainty to belong here.
Dreamscape respects lived experience, self-understanding, and changing identity.
What is the long-term aim of Dreamscape Community Connections?
The long-term aim is to create calm, accessible community spaces where people can connect without pressure, judgement, or expectation.
This may include:
- ongoing online community spaces
- regular low-pressure meet-ups
- collaborative sessions with other organisations
- a future physical space, developed carefully and responsibly
Growth is intentional and paced.
Care comes before scale.
What is the Community Journal?
The Community Journal is a gentle space for reflections, lived experience, and updates as Dreamscape grows.
It hasn’t fully begun yet and will start slowly, alongside the community it’s being created for.
Some entries may reflect:
- how the project is developing
- accessibility and energy
- real life, without needing to be “fixed”
There is no expectation to keep up — you’re welcome to dip in when it feels right.
Does Dreamscape replace other services or support?
No. Dreamscape Community Connections is not a clinical, therapeutic, or statutory service.
However, for some people it may act as a gentle bridge into wider community life.
This can include:
- attending other groups, sessions, or activities together
- arriving alongside someone so they’re not alone
- building confidence before accessing other services
- developing familiarity with new spaces at a manageable pace
Any bridging happens with consent, care, and no pressure — and always respects individual boundaries and readiness.
How is Dreamscape Community Connections different from existing services or wellbeing centres?
Dreamscape Community Connections is intentionally not a mental wellbeing hub, crisis space, or assessment-led service.
It isn’t designed for people who are in crisis — and it isn’t another “one-stop shop” offering multiple options or pathways. When someone is overwhelmed, that level of choice can add confusion rather than help.
Dreamscape exists for a different reason.
Its role is to offer a calm, non-clinical starting point for people who struggle to engage with existing services — particularly those who:
• disengage long-term
• find formal settings overwhelming
• struggle to attend alone
• fall between services rather than within them
Key differences include:
- no referrals, thresholds, or assessments
- no clinical framing or crisis response
- no pressure to attend regularly or “progress”
- no expectation to explain, disclose, or justify
Dreamscape focuses on connection before intervention, and familiarity before access.
It is designed to sit alongside existing services — not compete with or duplicate them.
Is Dreamscape the same as other community hubs or wellbeing projects?
No.
Dreamscape is deliberately positioned outside the model of traditional hubs and wellbeing centres.
Rather than creating another destination, programme, or offer, Dreamscape focuses on supporting people into what already exists — in ways that feel manageable.
The difference isn’t what Dreamscape provides, but how it supports people to access what’s already there.
For some people, walking straight into an established hub or service feels like too much.
Having a calm, home-from-home space — or going alongside someone they trust — can be enough to build confidence to take that step.
Dreamscape is:
- paced slowly and shaped by lived experience
- not attached to running sessions for the sake of it
- flexible and responsive rather than programme-led
The intention is to reduce confusion, not add another layer.
Does Dreamscape Community Connections replace other services or support?
No.
Dreamscape Community Connections is not a clinical, therapeutic, or statutory service, and it does not replace existing provision.
Its role is to direct people into the right services, or to work alongside those services so people can access them through a more familiar and trusted starting point.
For some people, this may look like:
- going to another group or service together
- attending once alongside others to reduce overwhelm
- building familiarity before engaging independently
Any bridging or going-together happens:
- with consent
- at the individual’s pace
- without pressure or expectation
Dreamscape exists to support continuity and confidence — not to become another endpoint.
Where appropriate, Dreamscape may gently accompany or attend alongside individuals to help reduce isolation and build confidence — always with consent and without pressure.
Accessibility & Safety
Is Dreamscape Community Connections accessible?
Accessibility is a core principle, not an add-on.
Dreamscape Community Connections is designed to be low-pressure, flexible, and considerate of different needs, energy levels, and capacities.
This includes:
- Clear, plain language
- Low-pressure participation
- Sensory-aware planning
- Flexible ways of engaging
- Honest communication about limits and capacity
Accessibility is understood as ongoing, not perfect.
The project continues to learn, adapt, and reflect as it grows.
Is the community moderated?
Yes. Dreamscape Community Connections is gently moderated to help keep the space:
- safe
- respectful
- calm
- low pressure
Moderation is not about control — it’s about care, boundaries, and protecting everyone’s wellbeing.
What kind of behaviour is expected?
Dreamscape Community Connections is built on:
- kindness
- respect
- consent
- care for boundaries
Harmful behaviour, pressure, or repeated disregard for others’ boundaries is not tolerated.
Safety, dignity, and wellbeing always come first — for individuals and for the community as a whole.
Accessibility and future physical spaces
While Dreamscape Community Connections currently focuses on online spaces and low-pressure meet-ups in familiar settings, any future physical space will be developed slowly and thoughtfully.
Accessibility will be considered from the outset and may include:
- physical access and layout
- sensory needs
- clear communication and signage
- flexible participation formats
- access to quiet or rest spaces
Not all needs can be met immediately. Accessibility will be reviewed and adapted over time, with transparency about capacity and limitations.

No.
While Dreamscape Community Connections is designed with neurodivergent experiences in mind — including late diagnosis and self-identification — it is open to anyone who would benefit from calm, accessible, low-pressure connection.

It’s how spaces feel, how people are treated, and how connection is supported.
Do I need to explain my diagnosis or situation?

No.
Dreamscape Community Connections includes online pathways that are open regardless of location.
Low-pressure, in-person meet-ups will be shared clearly when available and may be location-specific. You’re welcome to engage in whatever way feels most accessible — online, in person, or a mix of both.
Will Dreamscape work with children or young people?
At present, Dreamscape Community Connections is focused on adults and adult-led spaces.
Any future work involving children or young people would only be explored with appropriate safeguarding, policies, permissions, and capacity in place — and would always be communicated clearly.
Is Dreamscape faith-based or political?
No.
Dreamscape Community Connections is not affiliated with any political party, religious group, or belief system.
The focus is on accessibility, inclusion, and community care — regardless of background, belief, or identity.
What if I’ve tried other spaces and they didn’t work for me?
You’re not alone — and you don’t need to explain why.
Dreamscape Community Connections was shaped with exactly that experience in mind.
It recognises that the real gap often isn’t more services, but long-term holding, familiarity, and continuity — especially for people who disengage when things feel overwhelming.
There is no pressure to stay, engage, or make this “work”.
You’re welcome to arrive slowly, quietly, and on your own terms.
